Perito Moreno Glacier II
The Perito Moreno Glacier, the 3rd largest fresh water reserve in the world, is one of 48 glaciers forming the Patagonian Ice Field. Its front face, about half of which is seen here, is 5 kilometers wide and averages 74 meters in height. Pressure from the weight of the ice slowly and continuoulsy pushes the glacier forward into Lago Argentino. Movement is substantial: approximately 2 m per day in the center.
